Strategic Business Partnering Programs

Our Strategic Partner Professional Development programs are targeted to staff working in Finance, Safety and IT Business Partner roles and designed to develop the essential people skills so important to these roles.

We know that everyone comes to training with their own unique skills and experience. That’s why we kick off this adventure by understanding what skills your team already has. That way, we can tailor-make the program to perfectly fit your team’s unique needs.

We also know that every organisation and industry is unique. That’s why we’ll work with you to create some custom case studies and real-life examples from your industry and company to sprinkle throughout the journey.

Here’s how our strategic business partner programs are structured

Our industry recognised Strategic Business Partner programs are uniquely tailored to specific functional areas: Finance, Safety, IT, HR…you get the picture! But they all share a common structure:

Pre-program 360 Skills Profile

Participants self-assess their skill and knowledge levels against the competencies covered in the program. Managers and stakeholders of each participant are also invited to complete this survey.

The purpose of the Skills Audit is to:

  • Assess the current skill and knowledge levels of each participant prior to beginning Beyond the Numbers to provide a baseline level against which progress at the completion of the program can be measured.
  • Provide each participant with valuable feedback from their manager and stakeholders about their skills and knowledge and their development.
  • Encourage managers (and stakeholders) to be involved in and support their staff members through their learning journey.

Individual DiSC Profile

Participants complete an online DiSC questionnaire and receive information about their own DiSC style. This provides valuable information about each participant’s work behaviours, communication styles, motivators and stressors. Participants can access information about their DISC style, and learn strategies to deal with styles different to their own, all available online, and just in time.

Masterclasses

There are 7 core masterclasses for each functional area and a choice of electives that teach the skills, knowledge and behaviours of a true Strategic Business Partner.

Action Coaching

Each participant receives 1 on 1 coaching with a qualified workplace coach to embed the learnings in each of the masterclasses. Each masterclass has an accompanying Action Plan for participants to work on and report back during their individual coaching session.

The Action Plan incorporates the skills and knowledge taught during the masterclass and asks participants to apply these to real work/life situations.

Post-program 360 Skills Profile

We love to measure things – and learning in particular! That’s why we run the Skills Profile again at the end of the program to measure just how much each participant has improved their skills and knowledge and how they are applying what they’ve learned to what they do. (And there hasn’t been a participant yet who hasn’t shown measurable improvement!).

Welcome to Leading Safety, where Safety Business Partners develop the essential skills to excel in their pivotal role of championing safety within their organizations.

Great Safety Business Partners build connections between management, employees, safety regulations and workplace practices. They work collaboratively and proactively to minimize workplace risks and prevent accidents. To do this, they need highly developed skills to communicate, build trust, influence and coach others to take safety seriously.

The Leading Safety training program will develop those essential skills and turn Safety Business Partners from being enforcers to becoming safety storytellers weaving a tale where every person feels responsible for themselves and their work buddies. Stakeholder Management Essentials

This is a general program designed for multi-functional teams – for staff who support and work with stakeholders as part of their role. Case studies are not specific to any functional area, and cater to a range of functional roles.
